Random noise, incoherent thoughts, whatever.

Spamming scum, Robert Soloway, one of the most notorious spammers actively spamming at the moment, has been arrested for various fraud related charges stemming from his spamming campaigns. He’s facing charges that if convicted would send him to prison for upto 65 years.
One can only hope.
Seattlepi.com has more on his arrest.

Spammer e360, who previously sued Spamhaus for listing e360 as a spammer, is now suing members of a spam fighting Usenet newsgroup news.admin.net-abuse.email.
Apparently the spammer is not too happy about being called a spammer. I can’t imagine why.
The news was broken by the most excellent publication for the email marketing industry called DM News. The brilliantly penned article had this marvelous passage in it:
Nanae, a Usenet newsgroup whose Web site claims to be “dedicated to discussing e-mail spamming,†did not immediately return e-mails for comment.
That’s pretty good. I am wondering about a few things. A Usenet newsgroup has a web site (no, Google Groups is not it)? How does one go about contacting a newsgroup for comment? And if by some magic, one manages to contact “the newsgroup” for comment, who exactly did they contact? A random poster? All the posters? What about lurkers? It’s all a big mystery.

A Los Angeles area man has been found guilty of violating the CAN SPAM Act. This is the first conviction under the new law critics are saying actually enables spamming.
Jeffrey Brett Goodin used compromised Internet accounts to send spam to AOL members. He faces up to 101 years in jail.
Rot in jail, forever, scum.

Christopher “Rizzler” Smith has been found guilty of conspiracy and illegal distribution of prescription medications.
I believe he still has to stand trial for trying to arrange threatening and/or killing witnesses in this trial. Nobody ever said spammers are smart.
May you rot in jail forever, Rizzler!

Congressman Richard Pombo doesn’t seem to think there’s nothing wrong with spam and is spamming his attack ads on an opposing candidate to his constituents.
He’s the same Richard Pombo who 3 years ago was all about stopping spam by sponsoring the CAN SPAM Act.
So is he a flip-flopper (naah, he’s a Republican and we all know only Democrats can be flip-floppers, right?), a hypocrite or a garden variety jackass?
I vote for “all of the above”.

Alex Dragulescu is producing computer generated images out of spam messages. He’s written algorithms that produce plant/flower-like images based on the sender, send time and keywords in the message.
He’s got more sample images up on his Spam Plants project website.

Christopher “Rizzler” Smith is not the smartest cookie around, that’s for sure.
Rizler set up a fake pharmacy online, spammed like crazy to drum up business, got shut down by the FBI, ran to Dominican Republic after being released on bail, then came back to the United States, got arrested at the airport and has been in the slammer ever since.
While in jail this genius decides to use the jail phone to call an associate to arrange stalking and possibly harming witnesses in his coming trial. Who would’ve thunk the jail phones might be tapped. Apparently not him.
For this amazing achievement in spammer stupidity he’s likely to serve a very, very long prison sentence. The maximum sentence for jury tampering is life in prison.
Lube up, spammer scum.

Wayne Mansfield, spamming scum of the most stereotypical kind from Australia, had his first day in court. He will be found guilty, and he will be bankrupt by the penalties imposed by the court.
The second featured spamming scum today is one Adam Vitale, who got his balls stepped on by the US Secret Service.
Up yours, spammer scum.

Miller Brewing hates losing customers from its spam lists. That’s why they hired Equifax and their spam factory Naviant to do a little e-pending.
E-pending is a term used for a spammer technique of finding your Email address using other information, usually your name and mail address. A spammer, in this case Miller Brewing, has your other information, but not your email address. They’ll trawl online databases for likely matches, and basically append their records of you with the Email address found with the search. E-pending is notoriously inaccurate and guaranteed to generate spam.
Naviant, which was bought by the credit report agency Equifax a few years back, is a well known spammer. It is run by Scott Hirsch, a long time career spammer. In his past he’s partnered to spam with such great, honest people like Eddy Marin, a convicted cocaine dealer.
Here we have Miller Brewing partnering with Scott Hirsch to spam you. I think I’ll have my football with Budweiser from now on (not really, since it tastes like water, too).
